Off to pastures new

Hi everyone, well after 4 years my Freelander has gone to a new owner,it has been a good car but I fancied a change and have in the past owned several Jaguars. So at 76 I decided my last car would be a Jag so bought a Firenze red F pace, have enjoyed the forum during my Freelander ownership and have been amazed at the amount of knowledge you have got, thanks for all the interesting reading and advice.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 i6 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

We almost bought a F-Pace at launch but on test driving it the engine was like a bag of old nails, upon returning to the dealer on the test drive after just five minutes he said they were all like that Censored and he didn’t have a V6 to test (we had to test drive the 2 litre) so we never went back, but DiL works at JLR and she had a V6R I think was, some sport model anyway.

And it was wonderful, a totally different car, the again it wasn’t an early launch car either.

See loads around here, ageing population, comfy car, sorted Thumbs Up

You’ll love it. Regards

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

Last car! there are many drivers in the UK that are in their eighties and are of current Advanced Driver status. DAVE.

Good luck with the new Jaaaag - hope you have years of fun.

Dave, behave, I'm 62 and hopefully the current DS will be my last car, it's comfy, quick and diesel - what more could I want. The first person who says reliability is going to get a baseball bat around the ears. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

You’ve got to get to them first in that unreliable old diesel Laughing Regards

It may be my last car who knows, regarding advanced drivers I am a retired met police advanced driver myself, regarding the engine (2ltr. Diesel) it doesn’t sound any noisier than my Freelander and a lot quieter when under way.

Which variant did you buy? Be interested to hear your thoughts on it since if we’re still living here next year and Mayor Khan goes ahead with the ULEZ extension we’re going to have to consider changing ours

Hi, it is the 2ltr. 2017 Diesel prestige,my neighbour has one in the same colour,it is his second one and has had no trouble in 70k miles but any second hand car is a gamble but I bought the best one I could find.Get the pan roof it makes so much difference to the interior. When I met my wife 51 years ago I was driving a 3.8 mk 2 jag in brg so thought I would treat myself, let’s hope it works out.

I believe they had some issues with the first production run of the 2litre diesel in the F-Pace, others seems to be much better. Regards

David
