Probably what the last owner left in it. That said, some dealers have been known to syphon the remaining fuel with a hose pipe - I kid you not! |

They only put in 3 litres (as per invoice), I went straight to the garage and got another 2.5 litres in (7.5 ltr tank). It must be because I normally get a good discount on whatever I buy, and the supplier is trying to get some money back. M. |

Seems like an understandable excuse to me; I guess I can probably expect mine to be filled by pipette when I collect it then! I once collected a brand new, top of the range, Citroen C5 and there was so little petrol in it that I have no idea how I made it less than 1 mile to their local garage! The petrol gauge didn't move off the bottom and the trip computer wouldn't register any distance at all until the tank was empty - I went straight back in and asked for enough fuel to get to the local garage, but they wouldn't budge! Strangely, I never bought another car from them.... My last new car (Focus RS, May 2010) had exactly the amount of fuel in it that they had charged me for separately on the original invoice! |
