The Elso B is a game gun, if you are shooting clays the Elso C
will be better for you.

A game spec gun is not ideal for shooting clays.

Mmm I thought the B & C were the same gun? C been better wood, that's how I read it earlier, they offer two models the Elos B AL and the Field, I assumed I thought field was a game gun and the other a sport

But looking at the website it says hunting line when the list opens up on the left

Seen a 28" for £500, about 15 months old on pigeonwatch forum but my dealer has a 30" for £750 as new

Thanks twodogs, i decided against the Fabarm Elos as a gun, it is in deed a game gun

I have had a trip out to York and looked at what they had in there, and I am a browning, Miroku, Winchester man, the Berretas don't fit or feel as nice

Now its which model, I know the Browning Citori White Lightning fits, the Browning 525 Sporter fits too, this from using the two guns my family own

The nice chaps at York also said i had a good fit with the Miroku MK38 & MK70(?), and i also had a nice fit with the Winchester Select Energy Sporter Adjust

So i now know my off the shelf brands and its now down to how much I spend, I kept getting drawn back to the Winchester as i like the style of it and in time the adjustablity of the comb may be useful, Invector+ chokes too, but I would need to buy new as there are very few 2nd Hand about so i'm looking at £1300 (that's without haggling), New Miroku MK70 same price or a 2nd hand Miroku MK38/MK70 for £750+ (they only had a Trap gun in at this price)

I am now thinking, if i get my grant, to wait and get the gun i want, instead of a cheap gun till i can afford straight away, as i think I would be waisting my money, and in the meantime just borrow my family guns  Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I'm not 100% but I think that the Citoir range came before the B325 and that was out in the very early 90's.

The B325 was a machine made gun from Japan ( the Miroku factory) but it had the hand finish chopper lump
barrels.

In around 96-97 the B425 came out, still made in Japan but now with the cheaper to manufacture mono bloc
barrel system ( Like Beretta's) then came the B525 which is the one that's out now.

A mate that I shoot game with started shooting clays last summer, he purchased a second hand Browning B325
grade 5 sporter in as new condition for £800 in a private sale. This gun must be around 20 years old, look like new and will last a life time.

Something like this would be a good first gun and will last. You can still find them in this condition if you
look hard.

You can tell when a Browning / Miroku was made by the two letters before the serial number located under the
top lever. Google dating a Browning.


One last point, when you next look at a gun, look at a 30"

The gun is very much the same, just made in a cheaper way now.

Wood not quite as good, engraving not as nice and the barrels not
chopper lump.

I might have to upgrade my gun collection to keep you commoners off my precious chickens

(thats if you can afford the fuel to get to my place in the first place)
