United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Rimini Red
Wing Mirror Assembly

I have tried the search function but to no avail.... I very slowly and only for a moment 'grazed' my near side mirror on a wall this pm. Hopefully the white paint will polish out but the mirror assembly no longer fits neatly into the housing. There is a small gap to the outside, enough for rain to enter!
I have tried manipulating the mirror and housing but cannot get them to fit correctly. The car is new to me and I wonder if this was a fault I had not noticed? Anyway bottom line is does anyone have any tips as to how to fix it, is there a hidden fixing that might be damaged? How do I remove the mirror assembly to check? Many thanks to all in advance, JT Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.

Thanks Ad.....I will try but suspect relatively small gap between mirror assembly and housing will not show up well in a pic. If you look at the vid the older version has a curved joint between mirror housing and mirror assembly. This is were the gap is... Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.
