Battery terminal wire connections

Just looked under the bonnet in my 2010 HSE to find where the battery was hidden, as you do............ Whistle

Anyway , what is the black lead/wire connected to the red positive for, is it some sort of relay to the fuse box? Only ever seen batteries with two leads, red and black? Shocked

I wouldn't style myself as a vehicle electrics expert but from looking at the schematics it would be one +ve feed to the the starter motor direct and the other feeding everything else via a junction box (lights, horn, etc etc etc)

Many thanks, I was just curious, is this a unique feature on FL2 or deisels in general?
