FB was fine unless you have a DPF, if you do then it's FC you'll need Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Many thanks for that quick answer, already used 1/3rd of the FB but wont take the chance with the rest. Offset your Carbon emissions by boycotting Baked Beans and all Green Vegitables.

If you've still got your 2007 MY car like your little picture says you have, then you do not have a particulate filter so FB is OK for you.....Use it up (Or buy a moped Laughing )

After having Mopeds for over 40 years as knockabout vehicles I am thinking of going back to one (Honda Zoomer)to drastically reduce the running costs of motoring, most of my journeys are around town nowadays.
Thanks for the info as I could not find any reference to particulate filter in the hand book. Offset your Carbon emissions by boycotting Baked Beans and all Green Vegitables.

not an official answer but but adding 2T is supposed to reduce emissions i believe, so i assume there will be less stuff to clog the cat Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I see some comments say that the mix of bio-diesel in current supplied is a good lube - does this mean adding the 2SO is not necessary? 2002 Honda VFR800

Hi guys

sorry for the delays with the photos. I am currently shuttling between Switzerland and SA (leaving again for cold shores this weekend Sad ).

npinks and simont

as far as bio diesel is concerned, this stuff is seriously hygroscopic, i.e. it will absorb water from the humidity in the air, fuel tank etc. Chicken George is probably the most qualified to give experienced feedback on bio diesel, as he operates diesel machinery in UK conditions.

2sO will guarantee sufficient lubrication, however it cannot eradicate the negative impacts, water in diesel has on CRD component surfaces.

I trust that this will answer some of the concerns.

BTW I will be back in SA on 16th March and will be here until 6th May so there will be plenty time to bring on the long promised photographs. I just have to go and see that engineering shop but they are far from my place and time is at a premium for me at present. With kind regards

Fill your tank up every night to prevent condensation inside it, this will prevent more trouble than using t2 oil.


the inside of the tank gets warm while driving due to diesel recirculating back from the engine, so as it cools it draws in air and moisture.

that is fine for your vehicles. But what about the big tank we get the stuff from either at the depot or from the fuel stations. Rolling Eyes

Bio Diesel IS HYGROSCOPIC because it contains ethanol.

Tonight I will post a picture of a display board that shows the components from a 1st generation CRD system. From there you can draw your own conclusions, what happens, when the diesel has insufficient lubricity. Water is not a lubricant, it is a "rust accelerator" Wink With kind regards
