Never buy another Land Rover

My LR2 was comming up to 3 years old (september 2007) so in June I started asking my local dealer Lennock Motors @ Philip about extended warranty. Answer: Does not exist. Talk to LR Australia. Several phone calls later LRA in Sydney HQ and Melbourne HQ said definitely not and no plans.

Early October I have 96K service and on collecting car in the afternoon I see a LR extended warranty brochure on the counter. I ask if it applies to the LR2. Yes. Good can I sign up? NO yours is out of warranty, its over 3 years old.

Hang on. I have been asking this dealership about this since June and was told NO.
Sorry nothing we can do. Can I speak to dealer principal. No but we can ask and will phone you back. 4 days and 4 calls later I get the answer NO it is too old you can ask LRA.

So I ask LRA who deny all knowledge of my earliuer requests and tell me it is too old. NO exceptions.

So much for always getting it serviced by the dealer and following protocol. As they treat good customers this badly I will NEVER buy from the baskets again.

Pity because it is a damed good car.

Guess I buy Japanese next time. Regards Ub2

Well if you think its a "damed good car" why do you need to worry about an extended warranty Question Maybe the Japanese on the other hand, have to give a long waranty to sell their cars Whistle .
Toyota for example is renowned for realiabily, but in reality has just as many problems and recalls as other non-LR makes. Of course everybody would love the security of a 5-year warranty, but I wonder how many choose a new car for that reason alone Question 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

I would be cheesed off with them as well. Also, I doubt I would keep my fl2 if it didn't have extended warranty available. In Australia, everything about Land Rovers is expensive. Mine is on 86k and the diff is whining so what is going to be breaking at 186k? It's a great car but..... Luckily I haven't had mine serviced at the dealer for a while so the cost has been reasonable in that department. Wouldnt have saved the diff as there is nothing in the schedule concerning it. The Jap cars are pretty ordinary after the fl2 don't you think? Mike

Yeah right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The search result from both international site and LRA site is below:

0 results found for "premium warranty"

The real reason for not buying another is the very poor customer service and unreasonable attitude coupled with the harsh conditions in Australia. I need relaibility and support and LRA and the dealer have clearly demonstrated that they DO NOT CARE after stadard warranty is over. Regards Ub2

Provisionally my dealer has been 100% surperb during the warranty period which is now over. During the last service about a month before warranty ran out, it was them that informed me that they had ordered several parts from LR that needed replacing and that I didnt know needed replacing Thumbs Up 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

What have you got inside your head between your ears Question Answer: a huge spacious vacuum.

In Australia you have the option to cover your Land Rover for up to 24mths from the end of the LR new car warranty. The "Land Rover Assured Extended Warranty" is clearly documented and is run by Allianz Australia.

Now here's a kiddies approach to finding that information: CLICK HERE: www.landrover.com/au/en/lr/owners/warranty...-warranty/

Should that link fail (I'm no IT professional) you can find it another idiot proof way: GO TO www.landrover.com - then select Australia - then select the tab "Warranty & Assurance" - then select the tab "Land Rover Assured Extended Warranty".

And then do the rest of us a favour - go buy Korean or Japanese or American. There you can waste the time of those members' user group websites. Or alternatively - ENGAGE WHAT FEW BRAIN CELLS YOU HAVE.

No wonder EV is pals with you - he too has been blessed with oodles of ineptitude.

@athelstan

If you were gainfully employed it would not be as an ambassador that's for certain, and with your 'chat up lines' I bet you get invited to all the party's. Rolling Eyes
While I agree with everything you had written regarding the subject matter, a little respect for others would not go amiss.
Perhaps your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

What do you base that rediculous statement on? So if you get rubbish customer service do you go tell eveyone & the said company the service they offer is excellent then? I doubt it - go jump off the mountain Rolling with laughter

Oh & I am not making a pall with anyone on that subject, I can just find comparrisons in their experience to mine. Why not ask Xttattsbox for his oppinion too? (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.
