Can you all keep it polite Exclamation

The OP said how it came about, it does sound like they was given either wrong information. Which i would be annoyed about under those situations,

Or, the warranty package was released after it would have needed to be taken out, and prior to that there wasn't any on the market Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Seconded!

I have only just joined this forum but if this is the way people talk to other members then I will be promptly leaving.

Athelstan, that post was totally uncalled for and way out of order on any forum. Your insults are not ever going to be appreciated by anyone else. If you can't be polite then I for one would say don't post.

I am surprised that your post has not been removed completely. It surely isn't in keeping with the spirit or the rules of the forum.

Athelstans reply was a bit curt, But got told off by the mod (thats his role on here), real men don't need other men to fight their corner (fair enough if you are a mod) but everyone else should keep their trunks out, just my 2p worth

Your right Mr Pinks - folks should be polite. I was. I didn't use foul language, I simply questioned his common sense and told the truth.

Ub2 had not the intelligence to find a product that is clearly displayed on the Land Rover Australian site when he went looking for it even after I had previously pointed him in the right direction. In fact his sarcastic reply - "Yeah Right!!!!!" implied that I was not being honest in my original post. My second response probably was too informative and generous - maybe I should not have been helpful a second time and not posted the actual web link or a fail safe backup search method. And if anyone contacts Allianz Australia they will tell you how long that extended warranty programme has been on the Australian market Whistle

As for EV, well if we look at his tribulations re his FL2 and LR on his own thread re LR CS and the manner in which he has pursued his complaint(s), and combine that with this thread where he refers to LR CS personal as "simply idiots" my analysis of his performance is politely accurate: inept.

If telling the truth and offering solid verifiable links to the answer the OP seeks is deemed offensive then there's far too many shrinking violets in this Free2l.com world.

Welcome to Free2l.com where you'll find lots of expertise and helpful advice re the FL" (plus a host of other subjects), but really, nine posts and you're already quoting rules and a moderator of sense and sensibility. I suppose you can also read a book by it's cover.

Stay tuned, this forum is really beneficial

Just as well this is on a forum for if it were in a pub you may well have got a slap from Ub2

Yes I grant you it was a lively response and if you read my postscript to npinks you'll perhaps appreciate why.

As for violence being a reasonable response to my comments: well I do not agree with that - good open honest debate is best in my book, let the facts speak. But I'll not shy away from a fire fight - never have.

While I agree with everything you had written regarding the subject matter, a little respect for others would not go amiss.
Perhaps your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

1: I am gainfully employed - but not in any diplomatic capacity. I do a far more important job in the "autumn of my life".
2: Thank you for your support re the content of the subject matter.
3: My respect for the OP was commensurate with his own endeavours to secure a solution to the problem he raised. My philippic was on the same scale.
4: Life - one's quest changes as rapidly as the inputs that shape the quest - but - I'm no comedian (Dave) and (Boxer) I certainly don't menstruate; it's far too time consuming.

Around these parts it's less expensive, and you get better coverage, by going through a second party (Not Land Rover) for extended warranties.

What an excellent informative post. Thank You. Can you recommend any particular 3rd Party company for Freel2 members?

Athelstan,

I for one enjoy reading your posts/replies. You have the right to say what you like, after all we do live in a democratic society and if others can't accept that then it is they who have a problem. I'm a great believer of calling a spade a spade.

Keep up the good work and in the meantime I'll think of some more jokes Very Happy

Snaxmuppet,

We are all friends on here, so join in the fun, you'll learn a lot on this forum.

Yep, some debates do get heated and things get said and when first read seem bang out of order but we are all entitled to our opinions even if noone else agrees with them at the time.

I've met some of the guy's from here (ugly mothers most of them) and had a good time off-road with them.

Don't be too quick to judge but join in the banter Thumbs Up ______________________

New or old members are entitled to their opinion on a forum

I do find Althasan post a little direct/personal and too the point, hence my request to be polite

He does have a way with words, and these can be mis read, (not in this case IMO), if you find a post in the future to be not to your liking please use the red triangle and report it, with a note of what you feel wrong

He does remind me of a old friend, he like to use big words and always thought he was better than the rest due to it, last I saw of him was him holding a lighter under some foil......

Anyway forum will bring in a lot of different personalities, some you like other you don't, and find you ignore they 'humour' Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
