Will do. As the Brits say, I'll ring up my mate tonight and see who he uses. We were discussing extended warranties when I bought my LR2, and he stated that you can purchase different levels of coverage. Basically, as I understood it, you pick the parts of your vehicle that you wanted covered. However, having said that, I may have misunderstood him. The only issue is that I'm not sure if these companies are Stateside only. I imagine that a quick internet search would come up with numerous extended warranty providers for your location. |

How is that inept. You are obviously inept with that reply. My posts regarding the customer service (or rather non customer service from LR) are accurate descriptions of the experience I have had with them which is rubbish so what is wrong with quoting the truth? Sounds to me as you don't like people rubbishing the product's manufacturer, hopefully you will have a fault with your car that the dealer can't be bothered to sort & you end up giving LR CS a call & you will then know where I & a few others are coming from. EV Her Ladyship has had a few problems with her FL2 in its first 12mths, some were fixed promptly others were not. All outstanding issues were addressed immediately in writing and through prompt follow-up direct head-to-head meetings (I have also commented on Freel2.com., regarding her experiences with LR dealer service, so you could have availed yourself already of these facts). Those issues that were improperly fixed or were not addressed at all have all (with the exception of one - vibration - road trials still on going to find exact cause) been resolved. If you read my post re your ineptitude with any degree of accuracy you will discover that that adjective refers to the skill set which you lack i.e., the manner in which you prosecute your problems with LR CS. I do wish you a successful new year with LR CS. |

Mr Pinks In these mountains sheltering under a foil canopy with a fuel source to hand is considered excellent survival technique. We always carry such kit in our vehicles' emergency kit(s). ps. Warning: this post does not contain any words "big" or "small". |

I live in Australia and only heard of the extended warranty a few weeks ago. As far as I know, it wasn't available in Australia 3 months ago when ub2's warranty ran out. If that is the case then athelstan's insulting comments are way out of line....I was offended on behalf of ub2. Any dumb cluck can look up the web site now and see the info. After the race Freddy can always pick the winner after the race.

mikehzz The salient facts (no races, or invective, no if's and no Freddy whomsoever he may be) 1: Ub2 first posting dated 26th December stated he'd got a brochure on the warranty in October, however he implied by this late posting (3mth delay) that he desired to "know" if he was too late to qualify given that he'd approached his dealer 6mths before. 2: My first posting the very next day 27th December highlighted that there is a period of grace (regions do differ just like the model specification differ region to region) and that it should be pursued further. 3: Ub2's reply 29th December very clearly states that he couldn't find any further information on the Extended Warranty and implied that the content of my post was at least, a fantasy. 4: Naturally I replied to Ub2's questioning of my integrity with the post the next day 30th December which contained verifiable data to demonstrate that I was not inventing the Australian LR Extended Warranty Programme. So instead of issuing inappropriate betting analogies why not stop guessing about this product's introduction date and ask Allianz if you are that concerned. Whilst in conversation with them, challenge the "period of grace" that is associated with LR's extended warranty programmes offered in other global regions. And, query why Ub2 delayed by three months raising the question on Freel2 - that timeframe seriously doesn't support the notion of a chap desperately keen to seek an earnest solution to securing long term "peace-of-mind" motoring. And regarding timeframes - I cannot wait for the 5th Test to start in Sydney. Right now though I'm off to prepare for a Happy New Year's Eve family celebration. |

Irrelevant cricketing comments aside, the timing of the warranty introduction and Land Rover Australia's lack of information to ub2 over that same period are at the heart of his complaint. I spoke to the dealer where I found the brochure and did not in any way get the notion of a grace period. Buy it before 3 years/ 100,000kms or else was their assertion, backed up by no mention of a grace period on the brochure that I am reading now. I won't be calling Allianz to talk to a call centre somewhere like the Phillipines and waste an hour of my life for no result....been there, done that.
