Something to do with tractor theft prevention, reminding farmers that their tractors are valuable yet easily stolen. John Deere supplied the tractor, NFU painted it , the police take it to auction marts and other places where farmers 'hang out'
Strange but true, John Deere would be better off inventing a system where by all its tractor keys are NOT identical Rolling Eyes crooks just buy a key on ebay then steal at will.
Still its handy when you have four tractors on the farm and dont want to carry four sets of keys Confused At work

England

They seem to vanish a lot around here and usually late model ones, Eastern Europe is a popular destination for them easily hidden in a 12 metre tilt.
There was a poor farmer in our local paper a couple of weeks back who had his Massey (165 I think) stolen a few years back, it has now appeared again as someone is trying to register it with Swansea, they wanted to know why he had never sent the change of ownership through, turns out the local plod never did nothing about it when it was stolen so it was never registered as stolen, it has since changed hands a few times since and as they never added it to the stolen list it seems he has little chance of getting it back. It is just down the road from you CG near Harrogate with a collecter.

The poiice tractor is a new way of catching speeders, they are going to park up in farmers fields next to the mororway with a radar gun.

no doubt CG will edit this to the following....

"The poiice tractor is a new way of catching caravanners, they are going to park up in farmers fields next to the mororway with a machine gun."

Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter
