I was delayed by what I thought was a b Censored tractor last week, when I finally got passed it it was not a tractor but what I saw was worse, still a farmer though. A close coupled hay trailer with no brakes whatsoever not even overrun, with a bed about 30 feet long loaded with about 60 bales of hay being towed by a 2.5DSE Range Rover. Shocked The trailer was a heavy duty type weighing at a guestimate two tons when the maximum allowed on the RR for an unbraked trailer is 750kgs Shocked Oh nearly forgot no mirrors other than the RR standard fit so he hadn't a clue what was going on behind him and they say caravans are dangerous Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

hay? range rover? sounds like a horsey type to me not a farmer . Anyway why where you using country roads at all? , at this time of year the roads belong to the farmers At work

There was an accident up our neck not so long ago with a farmer pulling a load of bales on a trailer when a young guy in and L200 pick up came round a bend, hit the trailer, knocked it clean off the 5th wheel bogey he was pulling it with and killed the young lad in the pick up. VOSA found TWENTY TWO faults on the trailer and 6 of them would have attracted a "DON'T MOVE IT" prohibition on it! The farmer is now facing minimum 3 years in jail!!

The fact that the young driver was reported to have been driving recklessly doesn't even enter into it! VOSA fully intend to make an example of this guy in the (VAIN) hope that it may finally bring home to farmers that they need to start obeying Construction and Use rules for their machinery!! X5 3.0sd SE with more extras than the cast of Sparticus..............
