"HSE spec isn't worthy of the price tag when compared with others - i.e too many things are optional & at silly prices."

When going through the ordering of the vehicle etc & looking for accessories on fleabay I was getting very excited indeed & was still that way for the first 3 to 4 weeks though not now. As for HSE being overpriced, it is only relative to all the other models really so I guess that makes them all overpriced in a way. Items are optional on all models wheras the HSE does have better seating than the others though still not worthy of the marque to be honest when you compare with the RR Sport etc. The Alpine 14 speaker audio is superb IMO for standard fit (the best bit of the car) The sunroof is a nice touch & if it works the phone intregation system. All in all the HSE represents reasonable value though I think there are a couple of extras that should be standard on it that would make it look better value etc. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red. I have a customer with an Audi A6 Quatro Estate & a Porche Cayenne, both have virtually the same instruments, trip computer etc. I drive these 2 vehicles fairly often as he gets me to chauffeur him & yes it is a much better & more detailed system than on the Landrover. You thought the MGZT V8 was good? You don't know much about cars. To get only that small amount of power from a Ford V8 is a bit of a joke, and the build quality was even worse! Mine has been fantastic, my brother in law has now done 21000 miles in his 59 plate HSE and I can't tell any difference in build qualtity betwee his and mine. His has been faultless as well. Go and price up an Audi Q5 EV to the same spec as a FL2 HSE, and you will find it comes to well over the £40k mark.

The build quality was no problem at all, I never had any issues with that on both my ZT models or the Rover 75Tourer. The reason the power was restricted was because of keeping the emmisions low. The 385BHP model was being road tested but was too late in the system. Nothing to do with knowlege of cars at all. Stick the superchager on the ZT260 & the filter, plenum etc & it is an M5 eater!! Possibly would be but likely a better road vehicle unfortunately which pains me to say as I am a Brit car buyer. The FL2 IMO is a let down. I may change my oppinion if I get niggles sorted but not just jet. A lot of my irritation re the car however is LR customer service or rather a complete lack of & the blasted phone non intregation set up. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red. for your sanity and stress levels, I think you should get rid rather than venting your sppleen here regularly, this is an 'enthusiat's' forum, fair enough if there is an issue make peopple aware, but not over and over again. I have had great service from my supplying dealer and am more than happy with them and the new motor. 2010 FL2 XS Auto in Santorini Black with HSE alloys |

Lypsyl, Thank you for the first in depth reply to my posts. I wanted a RRS but couldn't afford one & in true reallity I could barely afford the FL2 which maybe in part why I am possibly expecting too much for what I consider to be a lot of money.Yes there are some trim related niggles I have but I bought it so will have to live with them but it is/was the fact that everytime I contacted LR or the dealer it was like no body was the slightest bit interested including you.I have at long last been speaking to someone that I was recomended to speak to at LR & I am fairly confident that he will change my oppinion of my car & LRs customer service. One thing I really do hate is poor or no customer service - it drives me mad, however when I recieve good or exceptional customer service I will reward that person/company by singing their praises

EV, I had a few (looking back) minor electrical issues in a very short period (parking sensors, boot catch) so I can appreciate ur frustration when nothing appears to be getting done. I was convinced I had a Lemon, it made me angry (much like urself) to think that LR had got the better of me by putting in a friday afternoon motor into me. Fact is to me spending £20 odd grand on a motor is allot of money - unfortunately I cannot earn that kinda money in 6 months and I dont think many of the other fellow members can either. In actual fact I bet as a rough guess more than 75% of the members motors on here are either under some kind of finance, pcp or personal loan even if it is for tax reasons eitherway im pretty sure most arent outright with the way lifestyle costs have spiralled.
