My 2nd Service is now due... any one recommend a dealer or independent in the South East (Bromley / Orpington area ideally) - prepared to travel if the price is right.

Looking on e-Bay I can get the complete service kit,(excluding oil / fluids) for around £65... - costco do a great deal on oil - £20 for 4 litres, (castrol magnatec 5w 30 a1)

Would gladly do it myself, but can't risk the warranty.

I can't answer how much a treck it would be for him but Reading his praise on Disco3 he seems to be in the south one day and north the next and he might be able to fit you in with another job

Anyone in the SE London / North Kent area, I got Beadles in Sidcup to price match a local landrover specialist on a 2nd year service. £290 all in - not too bad considering they originally quoted me £450...

Had the second service done yesterday and top marks go to Greenbank 4x4 in Aberdeen for a great job at a great price using all Land Rover parts . £265 inc VAT, thats a £200 saving over the local dealer TD4, HSE, Santorini Black, SS side protection tubes, clear side repeaters, chrome wing mirror covers

I spoke to Guava, Guildford who were the cheapest I found anywhere near me at £365 but they're booked up until 2nd March and I need it done before then. I managed to get my local dealer (Westover) to price match Yeovil at £400. Everywhere else in the Dorset/West Hampshire area want >£450

could knock £45 off that price including travelling to your location!

Yesterday, 30k service at (supplying Dealer) Lancasters in Reading ... £364+vat =£428.
That did include a 59-plate FL2e courtesy car, a very thorough wash and finding an expensive (warranty-covered) fault with the belt-tensioning system on the alternator.
A bit pricey, but really nice, keen, knowledgeable service guys - and it was ready when due etc, etc.
Next time I will just ask for a check-quote from the local indies (Frogs Island, Milton Park) just to check. I used to use them for my '55-plate FL1 and they were good value - but the 'courtesy-car' was usually a 'courtesy-heap'!
Incidentally Lancasters reported the disc-pads as being about 50% worn (@30k) and the (original) tyres to be @3.5mm - but 'ok' for a while. No pressure to spend more at all.
I'm happy with them so far - and I don't usually say nice things about 'main-stealers'.
The Glassman I've decided to stop being a good example and will now just be a terrible warning.....

C/Car free is using own insurance, 7 pound is using theirs.

Alona, they are just off Wellington Road on Greenbank Road, the next junction South from T&C . Hopefully this link will work. Turn onto Greenbank Rd and the garage is set back from the road behind the first commercial building on the left.

I know its been covered already but can anyone recommend a good independant in the Wolverhampton area? Been quoted £505 from my local LR dealer for 2nd service, good news is they have plenty of slots available next week - at that price im not surpised!!!
