Never noticed it before but just checked my rails and the nearside rear mounting is similar to yours ie the plastic end cover is not flush to the black mounting plate on the roof, the offside rear is flush though.

Strange are some peoples views - like to jibe others but don't like it in return lol That emblem has been around for nearly 5 years so is old hat. Makes me wonder why some bought a Landrover really if they take the out of British products & wasn't long ago that they were all under the same umbrella! Mine are similar (wind noise from 60 - 70mph). Also dealer fitted. The plastic covers don't fit flush. I was considering filling the gaps with silicone sealant to see if that helps. It's already been back to have the vibration fitting the rails caused fixed. |

You can get the plastic trim to fit flush - it's just a matter of due diligence when putting all the elements together. That takes a slow and dedicated approach.

That's what I think. When I took it back I was told there were 'fittings issues' and they ordered a new kit. Hmmm. Come to think of it I'm sure I saw new plastic covers for sale somewhere as well. I'll investigate that too. |
