Never noticed it before but just checked my rails and the nearside rear mounting is similar to yours Shocked ie the plastic end cover is not flush to the black mounting plate on the roof, the offside rear is flush though.
But having said that I get no wind noise at all, and rails have been on for 18 months without problem (I think it's just a dodgy plastic moulding Confused ).
If your getting wind noise though there could be a problem somewhere.

Yes a nice flush fit.....

The quality of workmanship in every industry is getting worse..

People have no pride any more.

Can you believe the chap that fitted them thought this was
acceptable, and you got a bill for it.

That emblem has been around for nearly 5 years so is old hat.

Makes me wonder why some bought a Landrover really if they take the Censored out of British products & wasn't long ago that they were all under the same umbrella! (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

Mine are similar (wind noise from 60 - 70mph). Also dealer fitted. The plastic covers don't fit flush. I was considering filling the gaps with silicone sealant to see if that helps. It's already been back to have the vibration fitting the rails caused fixed.

You can get the plastic trim to fit flush - it's just a matter of due diligence when putting all the elements together. That takes a slow and dedicated approach.

I doubt that LR dealers put their best workshop man/woman on this job; rather it will be the apprentice under the careful supervision of him or herself whilst dreaming about embroidery Exclamation

Rolling with laughter

That's what I think. When I took it back I was told there were 'fittings issues' and they ordered a new kit. Hmmm. Come to think of it I'm sure I saw new plastic covers for sale somewhere as well. I'll investigate that too.

The roof rails should, infact must fit flush, mine do....

My local dealer ( Guy Salmon, Wakefield ) pointed out
a possible safety issue if not fitted correctly.

All the FL2's I've seen with roof rails fit as mine do, sod
filling the gap with filler.
