Gets a bit parky in Yorkshire every now and then but I'm sure this is not an option I would want or need factory fitted - to keep pricing competitive it would mean the cost of this would have to be taken off the vehicle elsewhere |

No, you just put the price up by 10% and we can have all kinds, tents, roof rails, xenon lights, auto boxes, glue on bodykits etc |

Hi! I am going to install a parking heater no my FR2 diesel. I have contacted a Bosch service point and asked about fitting a Webasto heater. They replied that they did not have Webasto installation schemes for FR2, which I found pretty weird. Instead of Webasto they offered me a similar Eberspacher product also with 5kW output. They told, if I insisted, they could, of course, install Webasto as well, but since there are no installation instructions from the manufacturer. So, should I go for Eberspacher? I have heard that both systems are good, but Webasto is more silent, consumes less battery power and are more common, which is a factor to be considered with regard to service, spare parts etc. Any opinions? Thanks! |

We do not have this in europe so the question could be aimed at our colleagues from Norway etc where I think they are factory fitted.

They would install Ebersparcher for 1.700 Euro with a remote-control or approx. 1.500 without remote-cotrol. I suppose the cost of the heater is around 700, the rest is, what they charge for installation . |

Not standard here, but remote warmers seem to be getting more popular - got 2 close to where I live and hear them brumming away when I walk to work.

My Brothers heater broke in his Fiesta During December he had to scrape the ice of the inside of his windscreen and stuff a hot water bottle down his coat. 5.30am Kendal to Manchester every day in the snow. It took him 5 hours one day only to be sent home from work, 8 hour round trip -8 no heater. Ouch |

And in Romania too, but not as standard. Only as an option, on request. I have it on my car together with heated front screen and heated water jets. It is called "Winter packet". It is a Fuel Fired Booster Heater rated at about 5kW. Still, it hasn't a supplementary remote control, but it automatically kick in when exterior temperature drops below 5 deg. Celsius and in about 3-4 minutes the air blown inside becomes nicelly warm, because it heats the water from cooling circuit. Also the engine heats up more quickly.
