Would you have bought a FL2 if you had a crystal ball ?

Im having a bad day today. I love my FL2, they're a dam strong motor (built like a tank underneath), will go absolutely anywhere, and a pretty strong buy as an all rounder. However even though I know they are class leader (ive driven them all) I asked myself earlier whether i'd of bought a FL2 if id of known I was gonna keep getting these ennoying little niggles and maybe gone for something a little more second best -but known more for reliability.

If I was to change tommorow I really dont know if id rush out to the nearest LR dealership.

But then im sure they all have there problems. Confused Confused

I've had a few minor niggles but nothing really worth mentioning.
Would definitely have another one tomorrow, but I'm waiting for the LRX which will hopefully be on the scene around the time my warranty expires. Cool FL2 HSE Manual in Stornaway Grey

My biggest fault has been this parking sensor job, ive had no major issues but its all headaches.

There are jap equivalents, ok nowhere near as luxurious or as nice looking but Im thinking I could have put up with it ? But then how trouble free are these ?? You certainly dont hear the problems but then lets look at how many FL2's are on the road - thousands !

But then I think to myself if the niggles arent all sorted by the end of year 3 perhaps extended warranty is always an option I suppose.

Im having a bad day. Big Cry

Yes I have had a few niggles,
But boy it was a hell of a car in the snow today. The snow was up to 8 inches deep with the standard road tires i'm stunned. Its a good all rounder not to bad of fuel.
I have worked for a few main dealer's in the past and seen lots of recalls on new and old cars plus a lots of warranty work being.
Touch wood LR have sorted every small problem I have had with my FL2 but It could be pricey when it expires, have to look at may be extending it ??

Had sunroof & parking sensor niggles, but nothing compared to the 3x D3's with collapsing air suspension probs I had Rolling Eyes

Would def have another FL2, but would like;
1- 4" longer body shell to give slightly more rear leg room (2") and similarly bigger boot
2- extra 20 bhp / 40-50lb/ft torque (up to LR how they do it, i.e. retune/capacity/D3 TDV6)
Thumbs Up

England 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Galway Green

After three years and 37500 miles with a Stornoway TD4 XS, I traded it in for a new Galway Green TD4-e HSE. No problems to speak of with either car.

Gladly buy another, only had a couple of very minor problems nothing that could not wait till it was conveniant for me to have done. Still ticks the boxes for what I want but saying that if I had the money I would go for the RRS.
What can you get that is similar to the FL2 Npinks said it all when he was looking to change,

Scotland 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Fuji White

Simple answer is YES as I am going to look at 3 HSE's tomorrow (saturday) 2 silver and 1 black 6.5k and 7.8k on March 09. Present GS Auto has done 24k in 18 months and has had heater recall and new interior mirror.
Have attended some 20 Land Rover Comp safaris as scrutineer where service roads become ploughed fields and have run 1 hour ahead of competitors in 4 rounds of Scottish Rally championship each 60+ miles on forrest roads. Excellent in mud and on gravel.

Had Honda CRV new model previous to FL2 and it was the biggest pile of crap I have ever driven having had more faults in 18 months than my 8 Sierra + 6 Mondeo had in 18 years All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.
