I'm due a service so I'll mention it rather forcefully when I take it in. I wondered if it might be caused by the towbar electrics interface but I cant seem to find it. I thought it was next to the rear fuse box?? Anyone know its whereabouts on theirs? |

This was certainly the situation with my last car a BMW. I was able to get warrenty work done nearly two years after the normal warrenty ran out. For example the two rear suspension springs broke (for some unknown reason) and they were replaced free of charge well over a year after the warenty ran out. The border line seems to be how far the car has gone and I was told anything under 100,000 kms BMW would fix for (almost) free ![]() However Land Rover is another kettel of car manufacturer, so who knows where they draw the line ![]() Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

You might as well give it a go, you have nothing to lose. I had a new gearbox fitted on my TD5 by LR three months after the warranty ended. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

Today, the problem has disappeared - although I still have the phantom tones I've always had in the wet (like many of us). I'm not sure how to proceed now. I could do with a list of fault codes to consult - find out what one long tone and 6 flashes of the dash switch LED means? |

Good idea. I'll have iPhone at the ready each time I start. I could do with a thermal camera also - that way I can show them that my PTC heater has never worked, but that's another story |

This is a common fault in F2, you will probably notice that the problem comes and goes with the car getting wet (rain or washed!!) water ingress's into the rear or front sensors (which ever are faulty) and shorts them out. If you have a full service history you should get a very good contribution from Land Rover (the dealer will apply for this on your behalf), contribution levels are dependant on history and how long outside warranty, hope this helps Ps towing interface is at the rear left hand side (remove left panel in boot area) |

The phantom/erratic operation in the wet has been an issue as long as I've owned it and always resolved itself once dry. The total failure I'm now experiencing is a new issue and, I believe, not common with other owners. I would suspect that it's caused by water ingress also, perhaps exacerbated by salt on the roads. Thanks for the pointer to the towing interface. Once it stops snowing sideways I'll see if I can unplug it out of interest. |

I too have just joined that club, went to go out and it wouldnt start, called LRA and have had AA come out jump start car, check battery etc and all fine, took it out for 20mins and went to reverse and nothing on the sensors ! I too thought it might be the Trailer module as a year ago it was loose and siphoned the juice out the battery, however disconnected it and still no PDC, also has the beep on start up!! gonna give dealer a bell and see what they come up with!!! The missus who last drove the car said they went funny last night, so its something theer me thinks!!! Set low standards and constantly fail to achieve them!!!!!!!!!!! Sleep Deprivation Rocks!!!!!!!!!!! |
