Its easy to calculate water depth. See attached video of me on Strata Florida.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/13911860@N04/...047268634/

You can see with both my vid and Npinks vid that its up to the top of the wheels...all agreed???

With My wheels i was running 235/60/18's This equates to a width of 235 mm. with a side wall height of 60% of this giving a side wall height of 141mm.

Therefore wheel diameter (water depth) is side wall height at the bottom of the tyre (141mm) plus 18" rims (18*25.4=457mm) plus to top wall of the tyre (141mm) giving a total wheel/tyre diameter of 739mm ie water depth of 739mm. Npinks looks even deeper than this if you ask me! Freelander 2 XS 2.2 TD4 Met Black, with Winter pack, 18" alloys with General Grabber AT2 wellies, MANTEC Sump and Tank Guards

I will renew the argument here. the side vents are cosmetic , the only air input into the air filter box comes from just under the headlight. there are no ducts leading into the wing or anywhere else near the side vent. At work

If all the ducting is there then why is no one making a snorkel for the FL2 - usually you would see this on the G4 cars - Mole any ideas?

Any ideas when this modification came in? Better get my tools out and take a look at mine!

It worried me that LR hadn't made this particular car under Ford ownership quite as versatile as the previous ones. There's always a way forward!

2011 Freelander Td4 GS 150 - Rimini Red - in its place - Better x far x 4!!

I have been looking for a snorkel since before I bought the car. After discussion with various LRE guys rumour has it that LR took the FL2 on an expedition to Iceland during testing, and when crossing rivers they had to send disco accross first and then winch the FL2 across because it floated, hence why no snorkel.

Personally I'm still not convinced and want a snorkel. If anyone finds one please let me know. Freelander 2 XS 2.2 TD4 Met Black, with Winter pack, 18" alloys with General Grabber AT2 wellies, MANTEC Sump and Tank Guards
