Have asked Mantec technical when ordering the rear ladder, they are reluctant to produce a raised air intake becuase of the indicator in the intake grill.
The older Freelander also floats well - got the rear end drifting sideways when crossing streams several times, really makes the wife panic when it happens. So this didn't stop them making a raised intake for the old model.

Having an exposed air intakes really makes me nervous on two levels,
1) water in the engine would ruin my day.
2) when we drove through the Sahara in 2008, the FL1 used 4 air filters even after cleaning them out every day, the exposed intake will make it worse.

If all the ducting is there then why is no one making a snorkel for the FL2 - usually you would see this on the G4 cars - Mole any ideas?

Any ideas when this modification came in? Better get my tools out and take a look at mine!

It worried me that LR hadn't made this particular car under Ford ownership quite as versatile as the previous ones.

Big Cry checked and .........
its just cosmetic......

For the record mines an early 2008 GS so change will have been made after that? There's always a way forward!

Dang!! Sad

mine was a March 1st car but as it is Stornoway Grey it was probably built and stock piled in 2006!!!

Looks like I missed out on the 'upgrade'.

Might see if the stealers can get me a price - looks fairly straight forwards to fit...........

At least we seem to have found the 'break point' ?? There's always a way forward!

it would have thought it would be easy to make a air intake taking into account the indicators, you just need to have a sealed insert on the outer snorkel and a cable extention

Unclip the indicator, place in to the snorles fitment and plug in a cable extension Rolling Eyes Job done, sort, hows your father, bish bash bosh etc etc Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
