To be honest I'd have no trouble selling it, as it's much better than a lot of other's for sale locally. The delay was I wanted to rebuild the top end of the engine, before it was sold. It had been on my 'to do' list for 18 months, but I never found the time. However the new car negated the need for 2 large cars, so I decided to sort the engine properly. I found the cause of the coolant pressurising and the misfire at ¾ throttle, both being attributed to the cheap BG head gasket I'd installed back in November 2021. There were cracks between all 3 central cylinders, which caused the misfire, and there was staining on the HG between No1 cylinder and a coolant way. So it got a genuine HG set, including new bolts, seals, and everything else needed to refit the head. I also had the head re-faced, as the gasket failure between cylinders had caused some minor burning of the head face. The engine got a new timing belt kit, all filters, fresh oil and glow plugs. The engine has cost me almost £400 to put back together, as I knew it was going to another forum member. I'm pleased that the engine tested to be perfect after the work, which means Freddie17 can concentrate on the subframe and Haldex, then enjoy it. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone. Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver. 1972 Hillman Avenger GT, the project. |

Thursday 200 mile trip including lots of traffic jams on 'smart' motorways. Friday, metal rattle noise coming from the belts area, jacked up and removed wheel arch shield but couldn't pinpoint it. Monday, dropped it down to the local garage for a look see, identified as worn alternator bearing and replaced, back by lunchtime. Dodged a bullet there I think.

Hi Freddie. Enjoy at least you know you have an FL2 that has lots of those jobs doing which others will need doing in the future and by someone whom knows these cars. |

Exactly! That’s why I was prepared to wait and travel to Nodge, for this particular example. |

Finished installing the new facelifted front bumper. So much better looking than the old cracked broken old style one. Just ordered a few more bolts and screws, so that they are all new and not rusty.

Changed a few bolts and screws underneath the front bumper, so they are fresh and black, instead of safari colored.
