Glued on the new headliner yesterday, waited some 20 hours, and then reinstalled back into car, while observing small black foam bits and also glued down a part of the sprinkler hose and all wires that was off (split at the two connections).
In total I'd say I spent 20 hours. Yeah, I know, a bit slow, bit it's worth taking the time to do it slowly.

As the song goes: "what a difference a day makes".

Cheers,
Redfox.

Changed the manual gearbox oil yesterday while the weather was good to us here in the Midlands.

Took a look at the drivers door seal on the bodywork, so the big wide rubber seal. Manhandled by dpo and used as a doorstep, so of course the rubber was torn. Looks so sad and doesn't seal well in case you really need it.
Installed a new original Land Rover ditto. Looks good and seals perfectly.

Kind regards,
Redfox.

Spent the day changing the oils on the Power Transfer Unit and the rear differential. Old dead stuff was in there, so about time. I only got the car last December. No matter what history a car may or may not have, I do this regardless. Better to make ones own datum point.

Kind regards,
Redfox.

Took off the two long black plastic panels, cleaned them, cleaned the bodyshell and they had absolutely no rust, just shiny light blue lacquer, then rustproofed it. 36 new clips and screws later, and they are back on. Looks good, and now I know there is absolutely clean behind them and rustproofed.
Kind regards,
Redfox.

Right, so time to use some of all these Liters of automatic gearbox oil for the Aisin AWF21 box, so spent the whole day Friday working on that.
Did some 4 oil swaps, and all is clear bright red now. The old oil was actually okay and was done 2½ year ago, with not very many kilometers in between. Noticably faster and smoother gearshift. Not that it was bad at all, it was actually quite good, but there is a marked improvement still. Amazing that this box can shift so nice! Oh, and I just tried "sport" gearshift. Mmmmmm Wink Pretty fast then.
Very satisfied.

Cheers,
Redfox.
