Thanks for these suggestions but what I’m looking for is the proper Land Rover check sheet for the 2013 model to show to the dealer what LR themselves say about transmission oil changes. It’s listed in the 2008 Sheet but doesn’t seem to be in the one jules just posted.

Of course we all know the fluids should be changed, and we’ll do it ourselves if the dealer declines to do it.

OK Ive been though all the schedule sheets listed on my OSH.

Cambelt, idler and tensioner pulleys replace at 112k miles/ 84 months. Water pump not mentioned.

ATF renew at 160K miles, 120 months.


No mention anywhere of servicing of PTU, haldex or rear diff - which fits with JLR's notion that these are "sealed for life" items. Just not a very long life. Jules

The dealer is doing the cam belt and the water pump but doesn’t feel they should do the gearbox. They say they’ll have spent quite a bit on a full service (minus gearbox ATF ) replacement EGR valve plus cam belt and w/pump and I’m not going to push them. Thirty quid will buy five litres of Smith & Allen JWS 3324 and my local garagista won’t charge me much to do the change. But interesting that oil change for PTU and rear diff aren’t mentioned in the later check sheets.

Have a look a Volvo and Audi’s maintenance schedules for cars that use the same components. You’ll find that they recommend gearbox, PTU, Haldex and differential maintenance.

Thank you but as I’ve said, I was looking for the actual Land Rover documents to make the case to the dealer about what should be done. I doubt they’d be impressed by Audi or Volvo documents.

In that case you’ll never find more than the change to the cam belt schedule. Land Rover insist that the transmission components are sealed for life as it brings the apparent cost of servicing and therefore ownership down and satisfies the company car drivers accountants. By the time the components fail due to lack of maintenance Land Rover can say that the car is so far out of warranty that it’s nothing to do with them. Their new car target market doesn’t keep their cars long enough for the problems to arise and they don’t make money out of none franchised second hand dealers and mechanics doing servicing.

If you look at the Land Rover Check Sheet posted by jules above, you’ll see that the auto box ATF is to be changed at 10 years but interestingly, while the PTU and rear diff oils were listed in the earlier Check Sheets at 10 years, they seem to have been omitted in the later ones.

Use tabs at top and hit Servicing information, then choose 120 months etc etc for each service sheet.

Most owners will have all their service history on the log book as only past 5Y or so have been electronic unless owner used dealer or a indy who had access to Topix

Thanks, but that’s exactly what I asked for on the previous page. My daughter's car is June 2013 so doesn’t appear on the OSH - hence my initial query.

Update: having just got the VIN from my daughter I see that the dealer has just added it to the OSH so I can now download the CheckSheet I am looking for.
