I think you're bang on the money there. Same connector, and would certainly explain why JLR no longer stock the earlier FL2 version if this is compatible. I'll nip up my mate's garage in a bit, see if I can take a quick look at one from a later RRS/RREv Current driveway contents:

Also LR014015 - 2010-2014 Disco4/RRS start button. Same connector again. Shallower than the later RREv/RRS one and slightly wider surround (38mm vs 36mm)

Haven't had the chance to get away from my desk and nip up the garage today, so have pinged my mate a message to see if he knows the answer without me attacking one of his cars with the trim removal tools. Certainly the plug/internal function seems identical, just a cosmetic/trim difference between the different switches. Current driveway contents:

Thats what I thought, I would not be surprised if all these push buttons are the same internally just different trims fitted? Just wondering how good/bad the chinese copies are??? 2013 FL2 XS. Defender 90 300 TDi. Defender 90 300 TDi CSW. 1964 MGB Roadster. 1944 Willys MB "Jeep" with bullet holes. (gone) 17 hand Irish Drought Thoroughbred (mostly lame) Nagging Old Boiler. |

Hi did you have any joy, i took the chance and ordered this below it seems to be the same plug and four prongs front is different it does not stand proud but would be flush if fitted, i have stuck it in my stock pile just in case. It is the one i first linked to way up the thread. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125552252285 1 2 3 4 Just so everyone is sure i have not fitted this but am in hope it would fit the hole of the old button. I would be tempted to try it can’t be a hard job to swap the plug and give it a go. |

Yes I agree, I just took some measurements and pretty sure it would fit even if you had to file the hole a bit bigger? 2013 FL2 XS.
