What brand are the old & new ones? Genuine LR from Duckworths are £80 a pair

I got them from my local motor factors GMK in Dalry, never had any issues with stuff from there before.
The disks i replaced last year were in exactly the same condition as the ones ive had replaced. I reckon a change of calipers is in order.
Still no word on the back order for the seal yet

When you put the discs on did you do a break service, cleaning the pins and callipers, or just remove the old ones and put the new ones on.

contacted by the garage that did the MOT and brakes, stated this oil seal is on a back order and could take up to 6 months to get from Land Rover. Surely this cannot be the case for a simple oil seal.
Ive asked which seal it is , because they stated the oil seal they did get was the wrong one, but trying to get an answer from them to tel me which particular oil seal it is i dont seem to be getting a straight answer, I did however ask the receptionist who did mention it was a diff oil seal, from that i take it its from gearbox to driveshaft.

Can anybody shed some light on all the oil seals that are on the gearbox, including the output or drive shafts?
thanks in advance

Hi

The two links below are to the Lrcat parts web site, the first reference is to the gearbox and the second to the front differential showing all the seals etc, hope this helps. (You may have to search manually as some time the links don't work when cut and pasted)

An update on this, seals arrived next day, took them to garage , wrong seals these were for transfer box to gearbox not drive shaft to gearbox.

So today i took a drive to Parks Land Rover in Ayr to at least get the part number. The parts guy Danny a good guy printed off the diagram of both gearbox and transfer box for me

Have you tried Volvo Ford, Peugeot/Citroën for these seals?

Just an update on the seal, Dave at Famous Four has been able to locate the seal for me going off the diagram i supplied to him.
It is part number LR002929G which is £8.50 totalling up as £16 with VAT and delivery

Garage said it looks like the correct seal , however he said to me if i am to replace the springs and shockers due to my broken spring, id have to remove the drive shaft anyway from the hub, so i may as well do the seal myself as long as i make sure i put a tub under the gearbox to catch the oil that runs out when i take out the drive shaft and the seal can be replaced
