Not much of a mechanic then. You want to find one that can actually repair a car, not just the bits he wants to do. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone. Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver. 1972 Hillman Avenger GT, the project. |

He just said he doesnt do clutches, Anyway god news its passed its MOT today and its confirmed that it is gearbox oil seal gone so that will be done next week. I opted to leave it with them even though they said i could take the vehicle and bring it back, i dont fancy running out of oil in the gearbox in the meantime |

Its back from the garage but seal still not done yet, its had to be a back order from Land Rover as the aftermarket seal the garage got wasnt the right one.

I can understand when his mechanic said he doesn’t do gearboxes, mine would not either. Said he is to old now to be humping heavy boxes about, I don’t blame him. As for getting another mechanic, it must be nice to know an abundance of mechanic that don’t charge huge sums. |

Yes, definitely. when changing brake parts I always check the pins and lubricate with brake grease, and replace if corroded - but sometimes a polish will suffice. Jules |
