i know what you mean when looking a a locked car, the mirrors can deceive and i too have had to take a double look, sometimes finding the keys to press lock a couple more times to make sure |

I do use the mirrors as a good indication of locked/unlocked ..... but there's nothing like a good tug on the door handle to be sure. |

I too look at the wing mirrors to tell if the car is locked or unlocked. Another thing to watch out for is if you sit on your keys and accidently press down the 'unlock' button for several seconds - all your windows will come thus any passing |

It is mentioned earlier in this forum that we should lock the car to get the "computer" in the sleep state, not to discharge the battery. Therefor I always lock (almost) my car, even if I'm home. I can see the light blinking and I can often hear that the mirror "slapping" together. (God hearing |

I think the light starts blinking as soon as you take the key out of the slot. Personally I always check for the 3 rapid blinks, to make sure I've locked it properly. - Dick |

You're right Andy. I also use the mirrors as an indication to whether the car is locked. ![]() |
