Always replace cam belts on schedule if that happens before mileage. Unless you have a non-interference engine and don't mind if you have to get towed.

Not got it yet and hoping it's already been done but if not will need to be one of the first things to sort out. Thanks for the good advice 👍 |

I'd have thought an indy would charge about £300? I did mine for the cost of the parts c£100. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Had mine done last year by local garage for 320 inc vat so that sounds quite expensive. But may depend where you are in the country... |

Thanks for the enthusiastic response, off to see it on Friday so will have a better idea of it's history after then. Apparently one previous elderly owner so it probably wasn't school runs. Does seem very low mileage but supposedly in really good condition having been garaged overnight with a full LR service history. Is there anything obvious I can look for that might point to the engine having suffered through only being used for short runs? I'm mechanically inept by the way. Would mileage that low mean it's best not to consider it and the risk is too great? |

I'd say its probably been cherished and well looked after (or if it's an owner like my late grandmother there won't be a straight panel on it😄)

Thanks Bob, I'm really hoping I'm going to be a LR owner come Friday so keeping my fingers crossed there's going to be nothing to spoil it 🤞 |

Just been quoted £750 for cambelt and water pump etc by M J Fews at Charfield. They used to be a LR dealership but still do LR service wrk. I dont think i will be booking my car in any time soon. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.
