That looks like a good solution to a known issue. Personally I’d have also wrapped it in thick black polythene/bin liner, to protect it from oil saturation. It is adhesive backed. I just refitted the fasteners to plug the holes. |

Is this exposed to any high temps? Bought some of that acoustic padding and tested it with a lighter and it caught alight Corrado VR6 Mystic Blue - Gone

Well it's right under the sump, so I'd say it'd get pretty warm, hence the foil. It says it's resistance temperature range is -40 up to +149 degrees C. |

Get something that's rated for the engine compartment. The foil lining will also keep it from getting saturated with any leaked fluid, which also seems like a fire hazard. |

Did the pan with that foil lined acoustic stuff. Did notice that in the original set up there is what looks to be a drainage hole in the top right corner and left it clear

Good idea to leave a drain hole . I'll do the same.

I have to say the engine does seem a little bit quieter. SWMBO confirms this and didnt know about the undertray mod.
