Dropped my Freelander off to have two MoT advisories done . My spanner wielding days are over . One drop link on the rear anti-roll bar and one exhaust bracket loose . I picked up some decent quality links , might as well get both sides done . Looks like I’m keeping the car on as my fishing and shooting bus for another season 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

I did some facelifting a couple of days ago.
All was possible thanks to the experience I gained on this forum.

First five years there is no pink slip. Then every year when you get the pink slip you can drive her again!

If your mechanic has worked on her over the years he will quickly give you her pink slip.

Last year I had barely driven her, my mechanic had a quick poke around. He didn't even see how long it takes her to stop & the pink slip was in my hands before I knew it.

It's even more confusing as I haven't see a pink slip in years. They are white! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Today I jump started my neighbour's car, again! She is having another baby!

At least she has jumper leads this time, but I still used mine. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Thinking that the Aussie pink slip is the same as the UK MOT - fairly sure that the test is now timed in the UK, the examiner logs on with the car details and he can't actually give you a certificate for 50 minutes or so.

The old guy (I'm over 60 !) that does ours, is an old fashioned gentleman, checks beam alignment and then adjusts the headlights if needed, rather than issue a fail, bulbs out - grabs you one out of the back and if you can fit it before he has checked the wheel bearings etc. all is good. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner
