I would try and get a HSE Lux or Metropolis for that sort of money. You get xenons and a few other bits and pieces which are worth having. I am like you-I have an older HSE which is totally reliable. I have been looking for 2 months. There are a few cars around that have been on the market awhile. Some are starting to fall in price (by as much as £2000) so worth being patient and waiting out the market till it levels out. If you love that one though go for it-it’s only money👍

I agree, if you have that sort of money, hang on and wait for a HSE LUX or Metro.
They have the best interior and a lot of the things that are nice to have, including decent headlights.

If it's any help a Metro like mine (at 52k miles) is quoted on Autotrader at £14.5K part exchange, or £16.25K private sale. That probably means that a decent FL2 with a good warranty from a reliable garage could be several thousands of pounds more, but still worth having.

I found mine by putting an alert on Autotrader and waiting for the right one to appear. As long as you trust the garage, most of them will work remotely and deliver your car to you. These days pictures and real-time video can help you decide.
Distance is not the barrier it once was.

HSE LUX

FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

A 14 plate is due a cambelt etc even at a low milage so make you factor that into the price.

Just valued the following which are essentially the same car I have owned bar 18 months in age and TPMS on the metro.

This was on parkers:

The 2013 HSE Lux - 12850 max at a dealer
The 2014 Metropolis - 15850 max at a dealer

Crazy that they are the same spec and so near to each other in age yet my old metro was worth so much more.

Those prices are fiction too, they cost more than that from just a quick look around! SD4 HSE Lux
Yeti 170 DSG L&K
Freelander 1 Td4 Overlander

Past: Freelander Metropolis, D3, D3, D2, Series 3, Series 3, Freelander 1 (still have this one bought new, the Monte Carlo blue kid)

I have been looking for a while now, even before posting about it on here. Trouble is 9 out of 10 Metro’s are black which I don’t want & the odd one that’s not black has a cream interior which I also don’t like, highish miles on cars I could afford & don’t want that either, 60000 is ok but 70 getting a bit high for me.

HSE is a bit of a compromise but has everything plus a bit more than my 2007 SE has. Condition is everything to me as well. Will go see the car Friday, if I like it I can buy & bring it home same day.

I know what you mean about black-looks nice when clean but I couldn’t live with it. I am after Aintree Green. Previous post about cam belts is correct. SD4 needs changing at 7 years rather than 10. Look out for that because most haven’t been done at 2014MY
