First the bad news - sounds on FL2 travel really well, what I thought was a rear differential fault turned out to be a front wheel bearing.

You can easily disable the haldex by unplugging it from under the car or removing its fuse - that helps to prove or eliminate that part of the drive train. You will get alerts on the dash but dont worry it wont do any harm. Jules |

Your clunks sound very similar to what I was experiencing just before Christmas (see my posting in Technical headed "PTU failure?")

Hi new here from Australia. When trying to diagnose noises from suspension and drive line use “chassis ears” . There are audio clamps that can be wir Ed or Bluetooth connected to head phones. It will help you pin point the area of the noise. You can buy them on eBay with up to 6 clamps making the process fairly quick to locate the area. |

Had this on my first Evoque which had the same running gear as the FL2 at that time. Massive clunk from the nearside rear, Land Rover assist came out and diagnosed it as a wheel bearing so just escorted me to the local main dealer.
