Does this happen only with this audiobook or all of them? Have you tried a different audiobook on the USB stick? |

Just tried the one. I'll check the others. It could be that the disc and track info is being stored by Windows in an 8 bit character set and the infotainment software can only handle 7 bit character sets since its over 6 years old. I doubt the system has any sort of update since new. |

Similar experience with some of the uploaded CDs that show little more than track number, no narrative such as artists name, title. Someone told me it was down to how the CD had been encrypted? and there's nothing can be done. |

The problem is that the MP3 ID3 tags can be saved with many different character encodings, for example ISO 8859-1 or CP1251 but iOS does not support them. It knows only unicode UTF-16 and “thinks” they are UTF-16 when it reads and displays tags.

You didn't put some Pirelli tyres on the car which turned out to be made in China like me, you never know what may happen to the car! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I got the Mp3tag software and followed the instructions from Pete32 https://www.macanforum.com/threads/how-to-...es.155754/ My files had these tags before I changed anything
and after following the instructions had these tags. The tracks and disc info now display correctly.
Thanks for all the help. Roy 2014 SD4 HSE Lux |
