Nokians were/are great cold weather tyres, they are one of the biggest exporters from Russia of goods (tyres), unfortunately a few years ago Nokian got caught supplying “special” tyres for a press review, I used Nokians back in the 70’s on our 2CV during bad winter snow, sailed past everything on hills.......Nokian also have plants in their original Finland and in the US I believe, which is why I asked.

Yes they have been building in Russia for years.......I might be more inclined to buy if they had recently moved there, newer machines better manufacturing technology etc |

There have been several instances reported on the forum about premature age cracking with Nokian Tyres. Have a look at the Nokian Weatherproof topic.

Not quite sure what your TIA refers to but this kind of report is all over the place, when we were testing tyres for production (although admittedly this was back in the mid 2000’s at the last time I was involved) the Chinese brands didn’t even get a look in due to manufacturing and design “features” most of which were missing!

I've had no issues with Continentals both winter and summer variants. Found them to be very good in terms of even wear and grip. |
