No, it's not necessary to lift the vehicle. I fitted the larger tyres after the lift was completed as the standard 235/60/18's suddenly looked lost in the wheel arches. |

hello, use tire As far as 255 / 60R18 on my freelander fits perfectly, but for very little scraping, a member of our group in Brazil can install the 265 / 60R18 (HT) tire and it worked without scraping. ![]() ![]() |

I would like bigger tyres but am put off by having to faffle with the Insurance Company. Anyone else successfully insured a Freely2 on larger than spec tyres? |

I'm insured through Adrian Flux. Covers all my mods,HST body kit, 40/50 lift, spacers, rims. tyres, bonnet vents , underbody protection etc. Very good price too - cheaper than when it was standard. |

Jumping on an older thread here but has anyone got 265/60/18s fitted without issue or will they definitely rub without spacers?

I have 255 on Freelander rims & there is 4.4mm gap between the rear tyres & the struts. 265 might be pushing your luck. You would need to calculate the percentage of rim width to total width of tyre. Maybe the tyre pulls in just enough.

These tyres would be for my 18” FL2 rims, think you might be right about pushing my luck. Will have to do some measurements.
