United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

It seems a pity that another promising start up car manufacturing venture seems to be going down the drain.

I thought a while ago that Radcliffe's story seemed similar to Dyson when I read the article below about him starting to base himself elsewhere.

https://inews.co.uk/inews-lifestyle/people...ned-259700

I had great hopes for Dyson's electric car, especially if he could have co-operated with a bigger car firm to get it out in numbers.

I thought that Radcliffe's Grenadier project would get taken on by someone with the marketing/servicing infrastructure as well. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Disappointing if it isn't assembled in the UK. Reality is though if there is a factory sitting and waiting to get production running much sooner then you can see why they might want to change plan.

Rich, they have started on the groundwork already after promises from Ineos ( bit naive from Welsh gov. ) Sad thing is, this brand spanking new factory is next door to the Ford plant Rolling Eyes

Not such a bad idea - ready made skilled labour, all you need to do is poach them, seen it before.
There was a retailer that I knew who opened up a large new warehouse, not many trained Forklift and order picker operators, so they had to instigate a training program. Now at the time their treatment of staff was at best shocking, but it was an area of high unemployment so it worked for them. If you received any training, and left within 12 months you had to pay back the training cost.
Then a national retailer opened a warehouse across the road and poached a large number of the first companies staff (not difficult as they were being treated in a Dickensian manner), if your CV said that you came from across the road, as an incentive you got a bonus equivalent to the training fee that you had to pay back. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

I wonder why everyone is trying to leave Wales?

Do you think it might be because Scotland and Wales are trying to distance themselves from England, for no other reason, than they can?

Just like their insistance on being behind England in getting businesses back working.

This is not doing Scotland or Wales any good in my opinion.

Ah well, never understood how folk think Wales is so bad but still flock here for holidays. Whistle

Excuse me any mods watching but I take offence to Dorset's racist video especially the bit showing a coal waste tip slip.

Kind regards.

Maybe because if you are from Manchester, the option is North Wales, Blackpool or cross into the badlands of Yorkshire?

We could get into the whole English / welsh hatred thing, or treat it as the good humoured ribbing that it is surely meant to be. As someone who works t'other side of Chester with 40% of the staff coming across the boarder every morning (and evening of course), after 10 years the banter still continues - the so and so's actually call me a WIGANER!

Could be worse, they could actually call me a Manc. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Auto Express has a write up of the new 2021 Ford Bronco. Hope it comes to the UK? Looks like it would give the Grenadier and Defender some competition?

The Bronco is more FL2 size, unlike the Grenadier and New Defender.
