12 Volt Socket question?

On my recently acquired FL2 it has 2 12 volt power sockets in the central console between the driver’s and front passenger’s seat, I’ve noticed that only the rear one is working, aren’t they both on the same fuse?

No the one towards the rear has a permanent feed and front one is switched via the ignition.

FE45 engine fuse box = front socket.
FA6 passenger fuse box = rear socket

Its easy to blow the fuse on the front sockets if you put metallic objects in stowage between seats.

I've done it, the fuse is easy to change. No great problem. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

MY13 onwards are different. Page 183 of the car's manual. F52 front, F55 rear, F63 boot. All are 20amps. It's easier to remove the glovebox to get at the fuses. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
