It was obvious something was badly wrong, and poor for it to reach the customer like that..

strange that the clip was melted and charred black though, wonder if it was poor installation at the factory or poor design having the clip and pipe too close to the manifold or something

very annoying though that neither the LR Assist guys or the dealer ''technicians'' couldn't find the problem. Whilst I wouldn't really expect the LR Assist guys to have found that pipe I would most definitely have expected the dealer workshop to have found it.
Just goes to show that they all follow the ''if it aint showing up on the computer then theres no fault and its bad driving'' method of vehicle diagnostics

I think someone suggested or stated that the yellow clip was only there to enable the pipe to be connected, then it was discarded ! 2017 SEAT Ateca 4drive 2.0 xcellence (May 2022 -

JLR : "Computer say's no !"
Say's it all really.
No wonder they're failing miserably.

Note to JLR - Sell the company. Do it now before you damage it beyond repair, and it goes the way of all the other British car manufacturers.

In its defence a couple of days ago I saw on the road and followed for a while a 3 door version of the new Defender in, I think, Byron Blue? It looked very good indeed, better to my eye than the 5 door. I think J77 is in for a treat!

Just appeared in the Financial Times

Jaguar Land Rover plans to cut more than 1,000 UK jobs as Britain’s largest carmaker tries to save another £1bn to cope with the fallout from the coronavirus crisis.

The company said on Monday that it slumped to a £422m pre-tax loss in the year to March, with a £500m pre-tax loss in the final quarter as the pandemic forced showrooms and factories to shut across the world.

The group said it would lose up to 1,100 agency staff, or contractors, “in the coming months” from a total UK workforce of 32,000. The move came as JLR lifted its cost-cutting target for March next year by £1bn to £5bn.

The retrenchment comes on top of some 5,000 roles that JLR axed through a programme launched last year. These are the latest job losses to sweep the UK industry as carmakers from Bentley, Aston Martin and McLaren to Nissan seek to curb losses.

Des Quinn from the Unite union called the new cuts “another devastating blow for our auto sector and the communities that rely on them for jobs”. The union said 400 positions would go at Solihull, JLR’s largest plant, with the rest spread across other sites.

In its update to investors on Monday, JLR said it had only 22,000 pre-orders for the Land Rover Defender, the revamped off-roader the company is banking on to drive sales. Analysts said the figure was disappointing because it is only slightly higher than the number of old Defender models sold in the final year of production in 2016.

JLR’s sales between January and March fell a third from a year earlier, while April sales were down 60 per cent.

The group has begun reopening factories in the UK and Europe, although many are running at low capacity, while the Castle Bromwich Jaguar plant remains closed.

“The company plans to resume production gradually to meet recovering demand,” it said, adding that the Solihull and Halewood plants were open, as well as its new Slovakian site and a contract manufacturing facility in Austria.

In China, which came out of lockdown as Europe and America began closing their economies in March, sales have recovered to previous levels. Sales in May were 4 per cent higher than a year earlier, JLR said.

Annual revenues to March fell 5 per cent to £23bn, with total car sales down 12 per cent to 508,659 vehicles.

In response, JLR has cut research spending this coming year to £2.5bn, compared with £3.3bn in the year just finished.

The company had £3.7bn of cash at the end of March, as well as a £1.9bn credit facility, although the business spent £1.5bn during April and May and expects a cash outflow of around £2bn in the quarter to June.

This month JLR signed a deal with Chinese banks to raise £560m in a new loan facility, having been turned down by the Bank of England’s emergency funding scheme because of its junk-level credit rating. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

But where are the electric versions?

Far too late to the party.
