Had a Peugeot 504 for 18 of its last 25 years, Seat Ibiza for 18 years, each did over 250k km & engines were still good & intend to keep the Freelander until I need a wheelchair!

Not too many cars with air shocks in those days let alone onboard air, CD player was the first one available added to already ridiculously expensive KEF hi-fi & dark velour ceiling. The CD player was mounted in an overhead custom built centre console! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I can’t disagree with the sentiment that the FL2 was the last proper 4x4 built by LR. No idea why, because it’s boxy? because it feels solid? because the load space is practical? because it feels like it will go damn near anywhere and get you back?

The D4 met all the criteria of “proper Land Rover” and that carried on into 2016 when the Discovery was, for all intents and purposes, discontinued 🙁 |

I stand corrected the D4 fills the 4X4 roll admirably, capable, cavernous practical. Possibly reliable, my definition being she will get you there and back, maybe limping but .....
