I already had the aftermarket rear view camera, I took it off to put the factory rear view camera. Rolling Eyes
Trust me it's better than the aftermarket rear view camera Thumbs Up Freelander 2 Y13 TD4 SE - Alaska White

The BC-30 functionality is the same or better, the Garmin can connect to multiple cameras, no long wiring to the front, just connect to reverse light circuit, and you get a real GPS, not the pathetic excuse for one that the LR2 has. Trust me, aftermarket is better. 2008 US LR2 SE, 6-cyl gas

You're right flybd5, garmin is a good product. Thumbs Up
I was oriented to retrofit with factory rear view camera. I gave the indications that I have because I completed the retrofit with factory rear view camera. Wink Freelander 2 Y13 TD4 SE - Alaska White

Guys, I have ordered the camera and tailgate wiring with the codes found on this topic but the camera is with the code DH52-19G490-AE is not compatible, here’s a pics of what I received.

Also I’m missing the wiring for the handle compatible with the camera.
Can anyone provide the oem part number for the reverse camera and wiring handle?

Fixed rear view camera from MY15 so correct camera.

The camera wire is all part of the tailgate harness so a parts interpreter should be able to give you correct tailgate harness number. There are many and I don’t have that info as my car came standard with fixed rear camera. MY15

Thanks Stuart!
The camera I received has the same code but how do I mount it? From this topic I saw that the camera I need has another design with a bigger mount (rectangular).
Also I think I need this tailgate wiring, right?

The camera plinth that clips into the rear tailgate handle is LR054288.
You’ll also need clip LR054290 which holds camera in the plinth.
There is 2 different part numbers for the rear tailgate handle camera/no camera so if you don’t order a new handle with camera receiver you need to cut a hole in your existing handle.
Not sure correct harness p/n as I’ve never needed to know. MY15

The non camera tailgate handle (from a facelift car) has the outline for the cut in the moulding. Use a Dremel to cut along those lines then join them up with I think it was an 8mm drill bit. I found it pretty straight forward.

Thanks for the info.
I have ordered the two pieces Stuart pointed and also a tailgate wiring: LR083610.
Fingers crossed to be the correct one because every time I want to make an upgrade on my MY15 I have trouble finding the correct parts (my 8 way memory seat is still not finished and I bought new wiring, new command panel, an Evoque seat module, etc...).

The camera I bought (DH52-19G490-AE), second hand, came with the housing and the fly lead as below;

It should have a rubber bung on it, this was missing but I used another bung and some sealant between the wires.

These are the markings in the handle plastic that you should cut through then join up;

And a note of caution to avoid my stupidity, the camera should point away from the cavity you're cutting through! ie away from the car and not, as I tried, towards the registration plate. Oops!

Why why why did this take me so long to run one wire? Well, I guess we will never know.

But I've finally run the Fakra cable to the connector under the gear lever back to the connector in the roof lining (installed as part of the new tailgate loom. It was, as has been pointed out, Male to Female.

The cable runs along the side of the centre console to the join under the driver's seat, then out towards the door and follows the rest of the AV/Media cables to the amp then up to the connector above the roof lining. Took maybe an hour to run the cable in the end.

I had been envisaging taking the seats out again (which put me off for two years) as I needed to run some other cables but managed to get them all in

Then a quick CCF Edit

And hey presto. Three operating modes which I didn't realise

I don't know what the proper names are but I'll call them Park Assist

PDC

And Trailer Assist

I'm doing an ever-increasing amount of towing at the moment, and while I can get pretty close with just the boot open, this should get me spot on. The Red Dot in the image is right on top of the ball. Can't wait to try it out at the weekend!

So glad that's over Very Happy

Is it just a screen with parking assist camera? No GPS.

I'd be interested in getting a front camera for off road.
