I toyed with the idea of trying these exact ones but dismissed it after watching plenty of YouTube comparison videos about LED bulbs in a projector housing showing that the bulb gave the wrong pattern and actually outputted less lumens than a halogen bulb because of the poor pattern.
Your pictures however show some very promising results. Are you able to post a picture of the lights projected against a wall to show the beam pattern please? Would be very helpful. Freelander 2 XS 2013

Just ordered some, they only showed 2 left in stock.

I’ve had mine 3 years and never blown a bulb so I suspect the LR mod has been fitted, I hope that doesn’t cause problems with the LED conversion. 64 plate TD4 SE Santorini Black

They should be OK, specification states that the working voltage is 9-22 volts. 64 plate TD4 SE Santorini Black

I quoted the wrong one and answered my own statement.

I’ve just checked the specification and it states that the working voltage is 9-22, so it shouldn’t be a problem. I’ll find out when they arrive Very Happy 64 plate TD4 SE Santorini Black

A couple of people have asked for pics of the beam pattern on these LED projector-specific HB3s. Just had the chance to go outside, start the car and shine the headlights at the garage doors - sorry for the delay. Here are a couple of photos...

Thanks for taking the time to take these photos. Beam pattern looks spot on. Definitely will be giving these a go. Freelander 2 XS 2013

Fitted. Now waiting for dark. I noted the collars are adjustable, so you could adjust the orientation of the led chips. Has anyone had to do this or do you know the correct orientation? Thanks.

I've also bought a pair and just fitted them after Sunday lunch.

Drivers side fitted...

Let's see what they're like when it gets dark and I can check the beam pattern.

Did you see the led chip orientation when fitted? Googling seems to reveal they should either be both pointing up, or both pointing down (ie 10 too & 10 past or 20 too & 20 past). I didn’t see what mine were when they went in unfortunately

The first one I fitted, the drivers side, rotated freely. I fitted that one with the 2 LEDs facing upwards (with no idea if that was right or wrong).

The second, passenger side, wouldn't rotate! Didn't want to use too much pressure on the collar but it wouldn't move at all... so unfortunately that one is wonky, facing in a north-easterly direction.

Thankfully the headlights are quick to get on/off so I'll have a go at adjusting them later if need be - if I can get the passenger side to rotate!

So mine were wonky! I’ve just been out and reset so the LED’s are pointing up equally. Seems like a nice even light spread. Has anyone tried them with LED’s orientated down?

I’ve found the folllowing two sites, which seem to show the b2b manufacturer and showing orientation should be Upward
