Possibly the pedal itselF. I had a new clutch (slave cylinder , dmf etc fitted at start of this year and all was ok for a bit, but then pedal started sticking again near top of travel. New one sorted it, but new one is pretty creaky |

We had a new clutch and slave cylinder fitted ...about 3 months later the pedal would occasionally remain depressed and had to be returned to by foot. I returned the vehicle to the garage the mechanic bled the hyd. system and it was ok for the drive home ...next morning the pedal again started sticking.

That certainly sounds like the cause of the problem. I have the vehicle booked in for an investigation this week at the place which installed the new clutch etc.
