A long time ago I was recommended to put one dishwasher tablet in mine for the same reason by a mechanic. He swore blind to me that's what he did. never tried it and just kept flushing till it went. it took a while.

Put the dishwasher on an extremely high heat & it will corrode aluminium a bit quicker. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Rather than pulling the reservoir out why not syphon the oil out, without getting a mouthful! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

You need a liquid pH-neutral non-foaming detergent - this should fit the bill:

Correction; having now checked the MSDS for this product, it is NOT suitable for aluminium - it contains sodium hydroxide!!

If not, just wash out the reservoir with the dishsoap and flush the heck out of the entire system a few times after a few drives. |
