Another day where it didnā€™t move, but did give the hidden roof gubbins between headliner and roof panel, mainly where the alarm housing is and around the front of the rear sunroof trim another bloody good squirt with PTFE spray, it got rid of an annoying NVH creaking issue before, hopefully will again before our upcoming trip to the farm (not having that for 300 miles each way!). Regards

I dipped the ends of a new set of wheel arch rubbers in some anti rust preservative. When dry I will replace the old ones. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Hitched the trailer and drove to the tip, nice and early so in and out quick,
annoyingly they needed to check all my garden waste bags to make sure I wasn't sneaking in
soil! as they now charge Ā£4 per bag Shocked .... and that's a small rubble sack too. Rolling Eyes
no wonder there's so much fly tipping. Censored

Yes they are charging for rubble bags in Dorset now Ā£2.50 but you can slip small amounts in your wheelie bin. I am thinking of getting a pair of baggy trousers and spreading it around like in the "Wooden Horse" wartime film - does that count as "Fly" tipping? Laughing 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Only if you leave your fly open and tip through that but I don't recommend it as any rough particles could cause irritation in the gentlemans' area!

Cold Start

Wondering if anyone could help me without starting a new thread, last year once it hit -1C my Freelander 2 wouldn't start, and it was taxi's to work in the morning, once the temp lifted above zero it'd start first hit.

I'm assuming it's the glow plugs that must be knackered, anyone got any advice/guides on how to go about changing them?

Thanks.

Choose one, then if you can't find your answer, put your question on the most appropriate thread. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)

If your answer was buried in an 80 page thread you probably wouldn't find it so not the place to ask, if you can't find an existing suitable thread then start a new one. Thumbs Up

We are off to our Grand daughterā€™s 4th birthday on the farm up in Norfolk this weekend, so gave the FL2 a run to fill the tank (will need that a few times Very Happy ) and dust the cobwebs, felt a bit sluggish....ran fine but I just had a ā€œfeelingā€....so plugged in the iSoft and found the camshaft sensor was giving an error.....BO11OCKS thought I......anyhoo this morning took a look and unplugged the sensor loom, gave the sensor a tap.....squirted some magic spray (WD40) in the plug/socket plugged it in a few times to clean carp.....and no error, running better, felt lively all of a sudden......I love real engineering Rolling with laughter Regards

There are three golden rules of auto engineering:

1. If it doesn't move and it should move - WD40.

2. If it does move and it shouldn't move - Duct Tape.

3. If it doesn't fit, use a bigger hammer.
