Bit of a trauma with our spaniel today. She doesn’t like the vacuum cleaner (grabs a toy and runs upstairs) but she also doesn’t like the lawnmower. My wife got the lawnmower out today and before she could plug it in, our Cocker, as she normally does, ran out to give it her usual bite of one of the wheels and as usual she ran away and picked up an apple and started shaking it. It was then my wife noticed some blood on the Apple. On closer inspection, she had a tooth missing from the lower front. The wife was in tears (you’d think the dog had lost a leg or something) and she made an appointment with the vets but after I had a good look myself with a magnifying glass, it seems to have come completely out. We looked but couldn’t find it anywhere. The dog is not bothered in the slightest and the bleeding stopped after about a minute so I cancelled the appointment - my general rule is not to run to the vets unless she is showing signs of distress. I’ll just keep an eye on it in case she shows any signs. She’s currently taking it easy on the living room carpet, wondering what all the fuss was about!

I’m sure she’ll be fine. We had a whippet who had a front tooth kicked out by a fallow deer. The other teeth moved to close the gap. Just keep an eye for infections. Thumbs Up D4 HSE Lux for me

Ouch, well animals are very resilient and have a different reaction to pain than us poor humans...glad she is feeling better now Thumbs Up

A few months ago our friends had a new cat, it’s a Tonkanese (coloured like a Siamese but normal cat shaped head). anyhoo we got a call a few weeks ago, they have been keeping the little thing (kitten, maybe 12 weeks old) in the utility room at night where the litter tray and bed is, our friend wife came down one morning and heard a nasty whining noise, upon opening the door the little cat was hanging by its paws from the dish cloth holder which is stuck to the side of the cabinet, she had tried to climb up during the night and caught her toes in the slots of the holder, problem is it’s not the usual rubber “cats arse” type, but this

Stainless steel and a perfect trap shape......now she has had two toes amputated and the other paw has been in plaster/splint for two weeks.......poor little sod, made our stomach turn when we saw the type of holder....ugh Shocked

Cats getting better slowly, but I think our friend is still traumatised by finding “her baby” like that. Regards

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

Funnily enough, I was listening to radio 2 tonight and people were phoning in with their garden disaster stories. Well, one lady was pruning her lavender bush with some shears and she accidentally chopped off her Spaniels tail! Shocked Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Lol. Just looked at that picture again and you can see three Spaniel beds in that picture. Her bed, the blanket on the pouffe and the blanket on the sofa on the far left. She has another bed out in the kitchen. And she chooses the floor! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

More aggro with my Cocker today. Saw her gnawing at her paw and saw a raised bald spot on her toe. Took her to vets and they found a grass seed in there. £105. Whistle

Had a nice rib eye steak for tea tonight, of course she had to check the steak out. It’s okay though- that was the wife’s bit! Laughing

More expense today. Took her for a proper check on the teeth after the accident last week and they had to remove one further lower front tooth plus one at the back as the root was exposed under an inflamed gum. She only had a full health check less than a month ago and they had another look last week when she went in for the grass seed in the paw and could see nothing wrong. £450!! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

They can be costly little Censored at times but you wouldn’t be without them. More expensive to run than an FL2. Vets certainly know how to charge too.

Well, last weekend I fulfilled an ambition of mine that I’d had for some time. I swam with my Spaniel in the sea at West Mersea. She’s always loved the water. Sorry, poor quality picture, screenshot taken from a video on a phone. We both enjoyed it though. Mr. Green
