Would you say that the water was above the top of the wheels? |

Go and check this as if you feel with your hands the intake comes out the bottom front of the airbox and then does a sharp uturn and goes towards the front windscreen along the top of the guard, maybe to the side vent?? I'm not sure. |

I have had my air filter taken out, the plastic box it sits in and the pipe terminated just behind the passenger headlight, no sign of it going any further

I Hit a 2ft deep flood at 50+mph and it forced water in to the cabin up around the peddles-only happened on the driver side. not sure where it comes in from but i presume it was the pressure that forced it in and not the depth as i've since drove through a deep ford and no water came in. |

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't walk through the water to check how deep it was but I'm sure it wouldn't have been much over the wheel centre. The car slowed noticeably which probably means the front bumper was in the water.

If you hit the water too fast then water will be forced into the cabin through the seal around the bottom of the steering column, it requires a certain set of circumstances to do this replication of a pressure washer, water at up to 300mm a speeds in excess of 25mph say.
