I believe that the 2019/20 update for the Gen2.1 system should be available with in a few weeks, so it would be worth hanging on for a bit and checking the website to see when this becomes available.

I have a 2013 Freelander 2 and the satnav has suddenly stopped.
When I try to use it I get the message 'Navigation is initialising. Please wait.' but this message never goes.
I understand this model year was the first to have its satnav integrated into the HDD.
I used it successfully for six years, but no more, it seems.

I read the reviews of the recommended site & people are saying it takes 2 or 3 hours to download, my car shuts down after 5mins does that effect the downloading? Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Evening, silly question time I've a 63 plate and it would be good to update the mapping before a couple of Europe trips we're making in the next year. Am I right in assuming the update comes by way of a disc that I simply upload into the box under the seat? Or is into the CD slot?

Hi Sid although mine is USB I believe if you have box under seat that is where disc is inserted someone will chip in if that's wrong  If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

If you have a box under the drivers seat then you need the DVD update for which a 2019/20 set of discs is available from the satnavidisc site detailed above. If you do not have this then you will need the USB update - and in truth you are better off buying a TomTom or Garmin which will cost you only a little more but will have a more up to date map (and will be regularly updated). MY13 HSE Lux Santorini Black Gone

From memory I think your favourites are kept, but personally I have purchased a new TomTom as it has quarterly updates so it is more up to date and cost me only marginally more than the latest USB update. MY13 HSE Lux Santorini Black Gone
