Looking at an old brochure the original 90 had a 93 inch wheelbase, the 110 was spot on and the 130 was 127. So it’s tradition I suppose it will just be a model name as that’s what they are known as. A bit like these car manufacturers who’s engine designations don’t relate to engine at all. Mercedes Benz springs to mind 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |

Somewhere a while back , I think I read that VW were developing a smaller leisure pickup that was squarely aimed at retail rather than business customers . If they are that could be a smart move . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership 2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . A few years ago now VW had the Caddy (Golf......see what they did there? ) pick up in South America built/available as a “consumer” focused leisure vehicle, then again in South America VW have had some weird and wonderful versions of all sorts.

My salesman alone has 20 orders, I think I’m 19th on his list, usually I’m in the top 5. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |

If it's like any other new product launch you always start with the most expensive and high spec version which is bought by the early adopters then you move down the poverty list to mop up the rest of us plebs. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Ford did a pickup based on the Cortina called the P100 and apparently the top spec version even had pop up seats in the back.

LR have this habit of doing first editions, I’ve never seen the purpose as my poverty spec cars have always been delivered at the same time.
