Problem is like all EV downers think, that’s not a diesel genny but a battery storage unit.....get up to date fellas.

When I can recharge it in 3 or 4 minutes to get a 350 - 400 mile range and tow a 1.5 ton caravan 200 miles without a top up, then I'll consider an EV. Until then I'll stick with the oil burner..

With cars like the i-Pace and various Tesla’s offering blistering performance, half decent range and much lower “fuel” costs, I’m looking forward to seeing what the unprecedented pace of development in electric cars brings us within as little as 5-10 years

It’ll be many years until I buy another car, but I fully expect it’ll be fully electric.

I’m not anti EV but at the moment they are just too far away from what I want from a car and too expensive for one with anything close to a reasonable range. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

And don't expect the "low fuel costs" to last forever, as soon as the Treasury realises that it is losing VED and Fuel Duty income then EVs will be taxed to make up the difference. Watch out for a pay per mile meter installed in you new car. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Well out Daughter popped down at the weekend from Norfolk in her iPace, she had to stop and charge once for just over an hour at an Instavolt (contactless payment) charger, while there they had lunch, changed the babies nappies, took the dog for a walk and then carried on.......seamless for them.

Oh yes, took them out to lunch in the iPace on Sunday and I drove........wow.....lovely inside, dramatic outside and 0-60 in 4 seconds made for a fun drive

For some people they are perfect now, for others they will be perfect soon, for the rest they will never be perfect  Regards

It’ll most likely be via Smart meters, they will know (from vehicle software) when an EV is being charged, whatever system they choose everyone will say it’s unfair  Regards
