Hi from North Lincolnshire

I have got a Mitsubishi L200 animal but have replaced it with an accident damaged D3 HSE which will take over its role of pulling the trailer for our family business

Looking at a freelander 2 HSE when the L200 is totally dead fro my mrs

I missed out on a real nice HST FL2 on Ebay it was damaged hence the parts I have for sale on the forum

Italy 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Lago Grey
Hi from Gargano, Italy

Hi All

I wanted a Disco3 Thumbs Up , but SWMBO decided that a Freelander would do Big Cry

So first, thanks Martin for the sites. They have been immensely helpful and I hope to contribute here in the future (and maybe on Disco3 later Wink ).

So I have bought an HSE Lago Grey and will pick it up in the UK in the near future.

We live in a remote part of Italy - the Gargano in Puglia. Driving here is rough and 4x4's are a must. I have an L200 that has been with us throughout the rebuild of our house - it has been great and we will drive it into the ground on our olive farm. But we now need another vehicle to replace the aged Volvo which has also done a great job but cannot cope with some of the terrain here when the weather gets bad.

Looking forward to the HSE Thumbs Up

Ian

Scotland 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Zermatt Silver

Picked the car up yesterday and it's magnificent - lovely car to drive - and a bit of snow on the road up Loch Lomond side made it all the better. Only small points I noticed that the dealer hadn't were covers for the auxilliary sockets and the lumbar adjustment knob missing off the driver's seat. XS, Zermatt Silver, TD4 manual (eke out those miles baby!)

Cheers 'The Laird' (and Bartosz) for your welcome, your neighbours will recognise class when they see it.

A friend was round tonight who has a Shogun so obviously let him have a blast in the FL2 and he was mightily impressed. He thinks it's a good bit more comfortable but still offers him the possibility of pulling his boat around or visiting sites plus the mpg is much better so I think we may have another convert around here soon.

Ireland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

Hello Everyone!

Came across your Forum at the weekend and have spent all my spare time since delving into your words of wisdom. Enjoyed it so much I thought I'd sign up.

Last drove a landy 19 years ago and was put of buying one since because of the reports on reliability.

But now there is the Freelander2... Have spent a day tootling along the backroads, leaving lesser vehicles and envious looks in my wake, and I've been more than impressed with the quality of build and ride. So much so that I walked out of the building society with a cheque, today, to make one of these little beauties my own.

The dealer has one or two available but I think I shall go with the manual TD4 "S" model (UK=GS). Spec is the same except for no rear parking sensors.

Can sympathize with other European buyers about prices but this looks like a reasonable deal (although twice the price of the UK) and I hope the purchase will help the lads at the factory, in some small way, during this rough patch.

Looking forward to joining in your banter.

Slainte,

Steve.

Hi Mudbug and Welcome Thumbs Up

How's the FL2 on the road tax over your way, i hear they have brought in a emissions based tax, which should be too bad for the FL2 Question Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Ireland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

Hi, npinks, and thanks.

You're right, the emissions based road tax came in last July.

At the moment, both the Manual and Auto TD4 fall into Band F: cars that produce 191g-225g/km CO2 - €1,000 road tax Big Cry

The new TD4-e will be in Band E: cars that produce 171g-190g/km CO2 - €600 road tax.

A big difference but as it won't be available here until the autumn and as the stop/start system would be of little advantage to me as I rarely drive in congested areas (and because registration plates here change on 1 January each year) I decided to take advantage of the current offer and pull the trigger now rather than wait 'til 2010 Very Happy

Just hoping it will still be worth something when trading in for a 60+ mpg model in three years time.

My current car, Volvo v50, cost me €38,750 two and a half years ago and I've been allowed a mere €14,000 now - with less than 30,000Kms on the clock and spotless.

I know - I'm still asking myself the same question... Sad Must be Landy Barmy Thumbs Up

Good to have you along Mudbug.

As they say in these parts "that's a hoora price to pay" but after the Volvo experience I think you'll enjoy something completely classy.

I got mine at the weekend and am completely smitten. However, the trouble and strife took it to her brother's farm today and it's come back a bit mucky so guess what I'll be doing this weekend?

Hello everybody.

Consolidating my 'fleet' down to one vehicle which is a 2007 GS, TD4 Auto (Anybody want to buy a G4 D3?). Jury still out on whether I'm going to like it or not as I perceive it to be a comedown from the Orange Beast.

Impressed with how nippy it is though.

Sorry about the forum name, but I'm on so may forums with that name that I'd get very confused (not difficult) if I used another.

Looking forward to learning all obout F2's.

Regards

John

Hi John

Hope your going to find the transition from the G4 to your liking, the FL2 Auto is more than able to go most places a D3 could

Are you going to be kitting the FL2 out for off road fun too Question
